         Work Habits Scoring Guide

            Work ethic is of at least equal importance to intelligence and ability. The most talented worker accomplishes little unless his/her ability is supported by qualities such as integrity, responsibility, and organization.

Beginning Class

·          Gets out materials before being asked and is ready to work immediately after the bell.

·          Student is in seat well before bell rings.

·          Gets out necessary materials when bell rings and follows directions promptly.

·          Student is seated, attentive, and ready to begin.

·          Needs to be asked more than once before following directions.

·          May have to borrow paper or other materials.

·          Is occasionally tardy.

·          Needs a personal request to be seated or to begin work.

·          Student does not have necessary materials.

·          Is tardy frequently.

 

 

Listening

·          Listens attentively

·          Never engages in side conversations

·          Notes special instructions

·          Maintains eye contact

·          Listens without interrupting

·          Politely raises hand to ask questions
